We keep Christmas and the Holidays simple by avoiding the commercial side. We make it all about family and close friends. Our family gift is Christmas Day Dinner. As a child, my parents kept Christmas simple. It was a quiet time to play games like cards, crib and checkers. Of course we always got a large puzzle and Dad helped put it together with his 4 girls. Mom made cakes, cooked and did extra things around the house. I can still hear the crackling fire and smell the beautiful kitchen smells. I think I have passed on the simplicity of living during this Holy and Beautiful time of the year to my children. I may have rambled a bit as my mind wandered back in time and lovely memories passed through like a movie camera. I wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year.
