A new direction for my coaching practice

I hope you’ve been keeping safe and well during the last couple of months during this strange and uncertain time.

It’s been an up and down one for me. For the most part I’m taking it one day at a time, one hour at a time, and some days one breath at a time.

While I’ve stumbled and struggled a bit with it all, in the last few weeks I feel like I've finally got my bearings.

Today I’m popping in with an update on my health coaching practice.

You may know that for the last six years, in addition to my health coaching practice, I’ve also worked for the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) as a Coaching Circle Coach.

In this role I help students enrolled in IIN’s Health Coach Training Program, practice their coaching skills and deepen their learnings so they can feel confident in launching their practices.

I realized early on in my coaching career that my main area of interest was definitely in the realm of behavioural change and truly helping clients make those lasting dietary and lifestyle changes. So I embarked on further training and certifications to strengthen my skills, knowledge and understanding of the coaching process.

Through all of this training I've become really passionate about the power of the coaching process and love sharing my enthusiasm and knowledge with my students at IIN. And I want to do more of this.

During the pandemic I’ve had the opportunity to pause and really listen in to my heart and to the direction it wants me to take. I’ve spent time exploring ideas around this. Nothing is solidified yet, but I’m definitely moving my practice in the direction of coaching health coaches on their coaching skills.

What does this mean for all of you in my current community?

It’s been both a gift and blessing to have supported many of you over the last eight years on your health and wellness journeys. I always say that there’s no better feeling than helping someone cultivate more health and vitality. What incredible work to do in the world.

And the time has come for me to shift directions.

You’ll see some updates over the next couple of months and less emails about stress, resilience and well-being. I’ll be retiring my sugar programs, seasonal detoxes and facebook group.

More to come Stay tuned.

With so much love & gratitude.

Michelle, I am so excited to see where your directions shift, but this truly saddens me that you will not have your Facebook group for Health Coaches. I am a new Health Coach, just graduated in September 2020, and your information is really filling in a lot of gaps I am left with after graduating IIN. Thank you for all you offer and help us with.

Hi Sue. I’m not going anywhere. This is an older post where I was shifting from stress and resilience coaching into mentoring health coaches. I’m here to stay with my support for health coaches. Glad to hear that some of those gaps are being filled.
